Bunting over yellow banner that reads, "New Catalog coming 4/26"

As a member library of North Country Library System, we’re excited to announce that we are updating our catalog! We are in the process of replacing the catalog we’ve been using for many years with a new, improved catalog, with features like:

  • Easy to manage accounts with sortable/searchable checkout history, saved searches, and customizable lists, so you can keep track of what you’ve read and what you want to read
  • Improved display of material records, with all versions of the same title (regular print, audio, large print, e-materials) in the same place, so you can get the one you want
  • Customizable notifications for holds, almost-due, and overdue items, so you always know what’s going on with your books

There’s even more, but we’ll let you discover that as we go. We’re really excited about the features for you as patrons, as well as the way it will make everything behind the scenes work better, so we’ll be able to offer more in (and out of) the library!

This isn’t happening quite yet, though, so here’s what it means for you:

Now-April 11, you can keep using the current catalog like normal!

April 12 is the last day to place holds (until after Go Live on April 26).

April 18 is the last day to access the online catalog or app (until after Go Live on April 26).

April 19-25 is our offline week. We aren’t closed, though! This means that we can check books out to you, but won’t be checking books in, can’t place holds, or make changes to accounts.

April 26 is Go Live! Our new catalog and a new app will be ready for you to use (assuming everything goes smoothly!). We’re so excited for you to get a look, and will keep you updated on any changes or delays.

May 1 and onward will be all of us getting everything customized for how YOU use the catalog. We’ll have details for you when we get closer!

Over the next few months, we’ll have updates and instructions for anything you might need to do on our social media and at the library desk. If you have questions, you can check out the NCLS FAQ page or get in touch with us!

Thanks for your patience and excitement–here’s to the future of libraries!
